I am Kaonna Hyacinthe, a Haitian-American student filmmaker attending the Savannah College of Art and Design. Despite growing up all around the country due to being a part of a military family, I have always found myself in the south. For the longest time, I resented being in the South, but allowing myself to stew and learn from my culture has given me new insight into the art and creativity that is unique to Southern African Americans.

My favorite films to both enjoy and create are horror and thrillers with a socially conscious message. I aspire to make films that influence and inspire the public while shedding light on the social struggles and triumphs of minority communities. My goal is to ensure that the impact of my work changes the world in a way that outlasts me. I do this with the hope that the influence of my work changes the world in a way that outlasts me.
